Sound of Silence

Hey everyone,

Well, it's definitely been a long week. I've been tested mentally quite a bit, with some hard tests and trying not to go insane waiting for Christmas break, but I made it through. I make it sound a lot harder than it was I suppose, but finals week is definitely a stressful time around campus. Everyone seems like they're are constantly studying and trying to cram every last bit of knowledge into their brains.

But enough about that, because as of 5:30 on Thursday I finished my first semester as a college student. Which is oddly terrifying and refreshing at the same time. Scary because it doesn't seem like I've been at Luther long enough to have a semester under my belt, not even close. But also very relaxing knowing I've got a few weeks off, with no worries,no homework or anything like that. Just hanging out with my family, Carly(that's my girlfriend of a very long time, and she goes to Luther as well), and enjoying the Christmas season.

I'm planning on playing more video games and watching more movies than neccessary, for no other reason than because I can. But hopefully I'll get outside a little bit or practice some music stuff. And hopefully I might be exercising as well, so I don't get all soft over the next few weeks.

But anyways, I hope you have a great last week of class if you're still in session, and I will talk to you soon.

Grey Street

It's hard to believe it's finally come, but I wrapped up my last true class of the semester today. I just have some finals next week and then it's rest at home for a few weeks with no worries.

Sorry it took a little bit to get to you, it's been insane for me around here lately. I've had quite the attack of homework and other school associated stuff, as well as quite a few performances for Undeclared and things of that nature.

All that being behind me, I now have the daunting task of trying to figure out how to study. Definitely never did that in high school to be honest with you, but now that my finals mean more than ever and are without a doubt incredibly harder, it's a kind of necessity. So this weekend and early next week I'm hoping I can buckle down and with a little help from my friends (Beatles fans anyone?) I can get by to Christmas break.

Some exciting news for you, maybe not for you so much, but definitely me. On Feb. 16 Undeclared and Luther College will be hosting ICCA's here in the Center For Faith and Life. ICCA is a nationwide contest for college acapella groups and we are hosting the midwest regional for seven of the best schools around our area from Divisions I, II, and III. It's going to be awesome! Undeclared will be providing some entertainment and some great groups will be singing. So if you'll be somewhere where it you could come for a day I suggest making the trip. Anyways keep checking for updates on that!

Talk to you soon, let's hope I make it through finals haha,

Alex
